One steppe beyond

As it is often the case once out of a city in Mongolia, almost everything around is green and blue: the grassy steppes stretch away to the horizon and the enormous sky towers above. However, this spectacular setting is slightly different from most others, there are actually people here.

Mongolia is one of the most sparsely populated places on the planet. The size of Western Europe, and slowly throwing off Soviet domnation, Mongolia is wedged between Russia to the north and China to the south. Being landlocked, it suffers from extremes of temperature and is best to visit from spring to autumn.
